Fat burning foods

There are foods that help with fat burning, so if you are looking to burn some fat while enjoying and indulging; here are some foods to consider and why.


Chicken breast is low in fat and very low in calories. It fills you up quickly and it releases energy slowly. Chicken is an alternative to meat.  Chicken is a great source of protein, it is lean meat and very low in fat. Chicken tastes great and it is easily digested. One of the greatest benefits of chicken is the fact that it can prevent arthritis and other diseases. It is rich in substances that aid strong healthy bones and teeth in our body.

Green vegetables are low in calories and they have properties that help in weight loss. Eating green vegetables also fill you up without adding extra calories. Research has shown that meals and diets with low energy density make people lose weight quicker and added lower calories. Green vegetables provide your body with fibres and calcium which aid fat burning. They are delicious to eat and supply the body with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Oily fish are healthy and keep you full for longer, thereby helping you to eat fewer calories.  Oily fish is loaded with high-quality protein, healthy fats and important nutrients. Oily fish supplies iodine which is great for the proper functioning of the thyroid that helps general metabolism. Omega3 is derived from oily fish which has been shown to help in fat burning and against body inflammation. Oily fish include salmon, mackerel trouts, sardines, herring etc

Beans and legumes have been identified to help with weight loss. They contain very high protein and fibre which help in burning fat. They make you satisfied for longer, thereby preventing you from eating extra calories. Beans and legumes include black bean, brown beans, lentils, kidney beans and some others that are not very popular.

Nuts contain a good balance of protein, fibre and good fat. They are also great for snacking. According to studies, nuts eating can aid weight loss and improve wellness. People who eat nuts are happier, healthier and slimmer compare to people who do not, in other words, nuts help in maintaining good health and help in weight loss. Be careful not to overindulge in nuts as they have high-fat content and check to see if you are allergic to nuts before eating.

Whole grains contain fibre and protein. Examples of whole grains are oats, quinoa and brown rice. Just like the foods mentioned above, they fill you up for longer and also provide soluble fibres, beta-glucan and improve metabolism.

Chilli peppers: Adding chilli to your food might add a bit of fat burning substance to your food. It helps with weight loss because chilli contains capsaicin which has been proven to reduce appetite and help with fat burning. People who are not used to eating chilli benefit more according to research and people who are used to eating chilli benefit less due to the body tolerance to chilli.

Fruits are delicious and good for weight loss, some have high water content which helps in flushing out toxic from your body while others replace lost energy. The grapefruit has, however, been praised for burning fat faster than all other fruits. According to a study carried out on  91 obese adults, grapefruits were eaten before meals each day which resulted in weight loss of 3.5 pounds within 12 weeks. Grapefruit also reduces insulin resistance the cause of many chronic diseases.
Healthy oils to choose from are coconut oil, rapeseed oil, rosehip oil, olive oil and sunflower to mention a few. Choosing a good oil is very important to your health. Coconut oil and olive oils are recommended and need to be used in moderation in your diet.

Seeds help in weight loss, including seeds in your diet contribute to your well being. Sesame seeds and chia are exceptionally good and packed with nutrients. They are healthy snacks and help you lose weight. Chia is good for filling you for a longer period after eating, thereby helping you to resist the huge to snack and overindulge in high-calorie foods.

Dairy products such as egg, yogurt and cottage cheese are good for your guts. Healthy guts mean healthy you.

Yoghurt particularly contains probiotic (good bacteria) and improves health and burn fat.

      Yes. Yogurt contains probiotics which aids weight loss. The yogurt has to be sugar free and all natural. It is great.
