Within a few weeks, life has changed dramatically. Everyone has felt the impact of COVID-19. This lockdown has thrown some difficulties in our ways. Sometimes in life, we are not just in control. Many social events had been postponed, plans have disrupted, many have lost money and some big businesses are shutting down. We are all indoor for the most part of the day and as the days go by when often wonder what this is all about.

It is frustrating and at the same time annoying, but why moan about the situation? This is life happening and when life takes the lead, wait and see where it leads you, the probability of it making you stronger, wiser and braver is higher.

Are you one of those who one sees difficulties in everything? Well, you might not gain anything useful if you continue in the state you are in. Here are a few signs that show you are not taking advantage of the lockdown.

Here Are Some Of The Signs.

You complain endlessly the about the Lockdown. Most of us are indoor and we don’t like that fact but complaining nonstop about your boredom won’t stop COVID-19 from spreading. Instead of complaining, why not make yourself useful.

You are not been resourceful. Ask yourself what you can do outside your normal routine. Make a little adjustment. Look around you, what can you do to make your day worthy?

You binge on food without thinking of its consequences. One thing is certain, many people would gain weight, many would comfort eat and a lot more would binge on food out of boredom. This brings me to the next point.

You don’t have an exercise regime in place. You will definitely add an extra layer of fat if you eat without caution. Not putting any measure in place put you in a bad shape. Work on maintaining a healthy weight gain, you will thank me after the lockdown is lifted.

Do You Have Routines In Place?

You don’t have any routine in place. Plan something out. Have a routine to follow, plan your day out and stick to it. You don’t need to wait until the weekend before doing your laundry. Move things around and create time out for other things. Have a specific time for bed. Wake up early and start the day on a positive note.

You don’t think this is the best time to ditch your bad habit. We all have one vice or the other. The lockdown is a good time to look within and make an amendment. What’s that habit you need to ditch? What do people complain most about you? Think about it and adjust.

You don’t work towards learning something new. I know you can be anything if you put your mind to it. What’s more? You can even learn anything and be better at it before the end of the lockdown. Learn some new skills. Cook some new dishes. Learn how to sew. Learn something that rocks your boat.

You spend all your waking hours on social media. It is okay to get a grasp of what’s happening out there, but being glued to the screen all day has its downside. Be disciplined. Wake up from your slumber of deceit.

Do You Have An Indoor Plant?

I am not a scientist, but I believe we all need a pot of plant in our home. The science is simple, we breathe in oxygen and send out carbon dioxide. Trees and green plants are vital in this process. They give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. Having an indoor plant not only purify the air you breathe in but it would also give more during this lockdown.

You don’t meditate. Isolation and meditation go hand in hand. All great leaders the world has ever produced have something in common: they often isolate to meditate. When was the last time you stay alone without the disruption of music, phone, television? Create a habit of listening to yourself breath and you rediscover a new you.

Do You Boost Your Immunity?

You don’t think it is worth it boosting your immunity: I know you are keeping safe and sticking to all precautions, but not boosting your body’s ability to fight ailment might be a bag idea. Don’t just stick to precautions, help your body prepare for the worst. Eat well, try some simple natural remedies, sleep well, stop smoking, exercise and relax. Your 5-a-day is useful at this time. Indulge in all the goodness nature offers and you will be glad you did.

You lock yourself up without letting in some fresh air. While the lockdown is on, open your window for freshness. We all need a dose of fresh air. This action might improve your mood.

You don’t have a healthy eating habit. I know you’re home, but that doesn’t give you licence to poor eating. Select the best ingredients, make yourself good food full of nutrients. If anything at all, this period demands more from you. Eat sensibly.

You don’t indulge yourself. This is the time to indulge in self-care. Get your scrub out, exfoliate, soak yourself in richness. Look after your skin. Spoil yourself a little. You deserve it.
