How to make anti-aging body butter.

March 19, 2017

I started making my body cream about 3 years ago, I was tired of not knowing what goes on my skin. As always, I wanted few ingredients that really do what it says on the tin but finding this was not easy. Our skin is the largest  organ of our body and it deserves better treatment. Chemical residues, emissions, and impurities do more harm than good to the whole system. Whatever we put on our skin finds its way into our bloodstream. My philosophy when I started making my body butter was that if I cannot control what I breathe in, I should have a bit of control on what goes into my bloodstream. Moreover, it is fun whipping up and experimenting with different natural oil and butter. There are so many oil and butter to choose from. Natural butter includes cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter, kukui butter, jojoba butter etc. However, natural oils are more popular and they include coconut oil, almond oil, peach kernel oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, blackseed oil and so on. It is a good rule to research any oil before deciding on which to use.

In my body butter, I used argan oil, mango butter, shea butter, peach kernel oil and black seed oil with drops lemon essential oil. I chose these oils because of their goodness. Argan oil is not only a good moisturiser, it gives a visible glow and reduces wrinkles. Argan oil restores the elasticity of the skin and fights premature ageing. It is great for hair, it soothes, protects and heals. Shea butter and mango butter are great for skin as well while black seed oil seals up the goodness.

You can get your oils and butter in Amazon, Holland and Barrett or any other shops that sell natural butter and carrier oils. I always prefer organically certified products and here is how I made my batch.

Argan oil 40ml

Peach kernel oil 10ml

Blackseed oil 10ml

Raw Shea butter 100g

Mango butter 40g

Lemon essential oil 20 drops

  1. Add the butter and oil together in a heatproof
  2. Melt the oil and butter on top of a double boiler or whatever means you choose to.
  3. Pour the melted butter and oils in a bowl big enough for whipping.
  4. Place outside to chill or in a freezer/fridge for up to 20 minutes or leave overnight in the fridge if you can.
  5. Wait till the oils solidify. Please note, if the oils do not solidify, you would not get the desired result.
  6. Whip the solidified oils with a whip or electric hand mixer.
  7. Add essential oil to the mixture and whip up.
  8. Whip until you achieve butter-like consistency with soft peaks.
  9. Scoop into a clean dry container with a lid.
  10. Enjoy!

Thanks for getting in touch. I do appreciate that. To start with, natural products are the best for your skin and general wellness. I use natural products and I really don't have any complaints. However, you need to try it out first, I didn't have problems switching. There are oils that help with skin complexion maintenance. Lemon essential oil for instance would not darkened your skin. If you need help making them, you can buy from us. We do sell and these natural products never disappoint. Your skin might need adjustment to new creams though. I will advise you to try and see how it affects your skin. Checkout my blog post on anti-aging body scrub, this is good for brightening dark areas of the body. Please get in touch if you need anything or have any questions. Jazakumllahy khayran.
