Let Your Heart Decides.

I sat down to watch one of Disney’s all-time blockbuster Aladdin with the kids. As we watched, a line from the lyric stuck to me. Mind you, this wasn’t my first time seeing Aladdin, but somehow my head wove around the words and I was lost in its powerful hemispheral.

As Aladdin and his newly found love explored the beauty of nature on the magic carpet gasping in the freedom they just discovered, I wondered what it really means to let your heart decides. Let your heart decides.

Hear me out, I wasn’t talking about the butterfly the wretched Aladdin had in his stomach when he met the princess or the trials lurking above their love. Oh no, far from it. I was deeply motivated by the heart and its desires, what it chooses and how it happens.

My Referencing Points.

On the 1st of April 2017, I started my cold water bath journey. I had been reading about the cold water therapy and its benefits weeks before this date and I was taken by its praises. Ordinarily, bathing with cold water wasn’t my thing. Who on earth gives up the comfort of a warm bath for cold spanking?

As I read about bathing with cold water, I imagined taking up this gruesome challenge. For me, it wasn’t for the benefits. No. It was to build a step to mount on. Something to refer to. A referencing point of a thing.

When You’re Left With No Other Option.

I had missed two weeks of lectures and assignments with no prospect of hope. My mum had tried everything she could, but couldn’t get me the cash I needed. The sales weren’t forthcoming and it was difficult to get help.

The previous semester was a total shame for me as I had to feed off friends at school. I had managed well without the situation escalating. Needless to say, none of my friends at school knew how deeply unhappy I sometimes became due to my needs.
