How to make Anti-Aging Herbal Facial Steam

January 22, 2018

Anti-Aging Facial Steaming with dried flowers and herbs

Herbal facial steam is a special way to pamper and cure the skin around the face. It is very easy to do and it saves a lot of money spent on cream and other beauty products. This spa treatment does not require any special knowledge and it can easily be done without any expertise.

Herbal facial stream cures acne, blackspots and other facial problems. It softens and rejuvenates the skin. Facial steaming helps reduce puffiness, eye infection and nasal congestion. It removes dirt and grime; it also deep cleanses and purifies.

To make herbal facial steam, you need to decide on what herbs to use. Some of the herbs or flowers to choose from are chamomile, marigold, dandelion, rose petal, lavender, comfrey, spearmint, peppermint, white willow bark, hibiscus, lemon peel and host of others. You can create your own herbal mix and explore.

Facial steam should only be applied not more than 1 to 2 times a week. Children over the age of 7 can use herbal facial steam, but, ONLY with adult supervision. This facial steam is recommended to be used immediately, it cannot be stored for future use. Dried herbs and flowers could, however, be stored for months.

I chose the herbs for their healing powers. They are therapeutic and aid facial rejuvenation. They provide natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal and antioxidant. They mend the damages caused by environmental factors. They are refreshing and aid peaceful sleep.

Here is what you need to follow my recipe

Lavender ( 5g)

Chamomile ( about 5g)

Rose Petal (5g)

Marigold (5g)

A large heat prove bowl

Hot water

A large clean towel

Add all the dried herbs to the empty bowl. Boil your water at 100C, carefully pour hot water into the bowl over the flowers or herbs. Leave for 2 minutes to infuse.

Sit comfortably overlooking the hot water with the herbs. Make a tent using the towel to cover your head with the steam from the water rising to your face, with your face directly over the steam (about 6 to 12 inches away from the water).

Stay in the tent for up to 10 minutes.Breathe in and out deeply enjoying the spa experience.. Get out of the tent for a breath of fresh air if it gets very hot and steamy.

You know you have had a good facial steam once your face is wet and dripping with water. At the point, splash your face with lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean face towel.
