How to lose weight the right way.

Calories counting needs a bit of arithmetic, some people find it easy to adjust to while other just couldn’t get hang of it. I would not be going fully into what to eat or not what to eat. However, to lose extra fat you need determination. You need to be determined to set a GOAL and work to ACHIEVE the GOAL set. You also need a TIME scale.

Before you consider embarking on any weight loss journey, think about these three words GOAL, ACHIEVE and TIME. Ask yourself what the GOAL of the journey you want to embark on is all about.You need to be determined enough to set your GOALS and ACHIEVE the goals. The TIME required is personal and the amount of work you put in will determine the result.

What you need to do.

  1. Food is nutritious and we depend on it to survive. To lose weight, choose what you eat rightly. You don’t need a degree in healthy eating to know if you are eating healthy or not. Use your sense. If you are NOT eating right, now is the time to start eating right.
  2. Have an affair with water. You can’t get it wrong. If you are used to sugary drinks and swapping to water might be difficult, try diluting your drink with water. Half your drink and mix up with good old water.
  3. Eat less processed foods. Eat foods that provide a variety of tastes, textures and nutrients.
  4. Reduce your oil intake and stop eating at least 3 hours before bedtime. If you are peckish before bedtime,  have a drink of water or snack of fruits.
  5. Indulge in foods filled with protein. There are varieties to choose from.
  6. Swap sugary foods for healthy ones. Eat fruits, nuts and seeds as part of your diet.
  7. Be positive about losing weight. You can do this. You have faced greater challenges in life.
  8. Portion control is the secret of weight loss.Start by reducing the amount of food you eat by 20 percent. Gradually cut down what you eat every week. It might be difficult if you cut down all in one go. Use smaller plates to help achieve portion control.
  9. A mental exercise of dividing your stomach into three compartments is also a good one. Imagine your stomach has 3 compartments. Number 1 compartment is for food, number 2 is for water and number 3 for air. This might take time to get used to, but, it worth trying.
  10. Fitness and a healthy lifestyle go hand in hand. Decide on the type of exercise to engage in. A gentle walk in the park, a brisk walk, cycling or running. Decide on which exercise to start with. Do this often and improve on it every week.
  11. Have people who encourage your newly found hobby. Work to achieve the set goals. This might be a lonely journey, you need all the encouragement you might find.
  12. Give yourself up to 12 weeks before checking for a result. Stick to your routines religiously.
